Present Laughter

Marianna performs around Seattle, and has performed in several Harlequin shows, including as Eve in The Art of Racing in the Rain, Daphne in Present Laughter and Mrs. Linde in A Doll’s House.  Before the shutdown, she was playing Julia in an adaptation of 1984 with Radial Theatre Project. She has cut her teeth voice acting with Sandbox Radio Live, Imagination Theater and on various video games. Maggie has also worked with TAO, Lakewood Playhouse, Annex Theatre and the Indiana Repertory Theatre. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Theatre Performance (Go Blue!). Love to Christian, who brings love, laughter and magic into her life.

Dennis just loves playing Shakespeare. Since 1993, he has appeared on stages in Edmonds, Renton, Seattle, Federal Way, Gig Harbor, Tacoma, Lakewood, Lacey, Tumwater, Olympia and Centralia, but he considers the State Theater home.

Ann studied theater at Lewis & Clark College and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Aaron has worked in Seattle for Village Theatre, Taproot Theatre, Book-It Repertory Theatre, and Seattle Shakespeare Company and has worked regionally throughout the country. Aaron was awarded a Seattle Critics (Footlight) Award for his work as Lord Goring in An Ideal Husband at Taproot Theatre, the Memphis Critics (Ostrander) Award for Best Actor for his work as Jerry in The Full Monty at Playhouse on the Square, a Kennedy Center award for Best Actor for his work as Samuel Coleridge in Grasmere, and an OC Weekly Award for his work as Peck in How I Learned to Drive. Aaron holds an MFA in acting from California State University, Fullerton, and a BA from Washington State University.

Laura has performed in many theatrical productions in the Seattle area, a few favorites include last season’s The Brothers K, Parts 1 & 2 (Ensemble) and Truth Like the Sun (Linda/Ensemble), both with Book-It Repertory Theatre, and Sprawl (Monique) with Washington Ensemble Theatre. Other favorites include Doris in Same Time, Next Year; Edna in The Prisoner of Second Avenue; and two turns in Noel Coward’s classic, Blithe Spirit, as both Ruth and Elvira. In addition to theatre, she is a member of SAG-AFTRA and has performed in numerous indie films, commercials, voice-overs and corporate/industrial videos for companies such as Boeing, Microsoft and Nordstrom.

Additioanl area credits include The Mystery Plays and The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong with Theater Artists Olympia, and Hotel Olympian Gala Extravaganza with Open Road Productions. Some favorite productions include Cinder Edna at Olympia Family Theater, St. Martin’s production of Equivocation, Hamlet with South Puget Sound Community College, Night Must Fall at Olympia Family Theater, The Head That Wouldn’t Die! at Theater Artists Olympia, The Rocky Horror Show at Lakewood Playhouse, and Cabaret with Standing Room Only.

Other notable appearances include: Tacoma Little Theatre’s The Weir and Frost/Nixon, Theatre Artists Olympia’s Seven Ways To Get There and 1984, and Lakewood Playhouse’s The Farnsworth Invention. Other favorite roles include Roger in Rent, Claude in Hair and Jamie in The Last Five Years. Bruce also works behind the curtain. He has designed and built sets for over 300 productions, including some here at Harlequin.  He is very proud and honored to be a part of this beautiful and significant show.
