This action-packed romance is the story of a forbidden marriage and a wager over the wife’s virtue. When King Cymbeline’s adopted son, Posthumus, marries princess Imogen without the king’s permission, he is banished. Forced to part, the lovers swear allegiance to each other and exchange a ring and bracelet to seal their vows. On his travels Posthumus meets Iachimo and a group of men who are boasting of the beauty of their respective countries’ women. When Iachimo hears of Imogen’s graces and her constancy, he wagers gold against Posthumus’s ring that he can seduce her. So begins a journey through love, jealousy, betrayal, courage, repentance, and redemption.
