August: Osage County

Angela was born and raised in the PNW and has been acting on stage and screen for 36 years. You may have seen her on stage at Village Theatre (The Importance of Being Earnest, The Foreigner, Crimes of the Heart), Seattle Rep (Boeing Boeing), ReAct (Closer, Angels in America), Seattle Public Theatre (Christmastown), ArtsWest (Reasons to be Pretty), Book-It Repertory (Mrs. Caliban, Sense & Sensibility).  When not performing, Angela and her husband teach at Mighty Tripod Acting Studio, helping actors empower their art.

Doug has performed with several Seattle-area theaters over the past 25 years, including Village Theatre (Billy Elliot, Beauty and the Beast, Hello Dolly, South Pacific); Theatre 22 (The Pride); Seattle Musical Theatre (Sweet Charity, 9 to 5, Cabaret); Second Story Rep (Little Shop, Chess, Little Night Music); Seattle Rep (Great Gatsby); ArtsWest (Shipwrecked); Stage Right (Boys Next Door and the Gregory Award Winning production of Into the Woods); and Annex (Yellow Kid, For Lorne, Cat Like Tread). Doug also stars in Lionsgate’s 2009 comedy-horror film Zombies of Mass Destruction. He has featured roles in several other independent films including PUNCH, Dead Men, and Junk! and will make his network television debut on the season four opener of Z Nation very soon. He’s also lent his voice to various film and commercial projects. Doug continues to divide his performance time between stage and film but has also started focusing on the emerging medium of Virtual Reality gaming and experiences.

Ann studied theater at Lewis & Clark College and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

FILM: 5th Grade Boss, Delivery and Door To Door. TV: GRIMM (NBC). John has also worked as a producer and director. On Broadway, Jackie – An American Life as associate General Manager, Off-Broadway, he was one of the producers of Hedwig & The Angry Inch and helped develop The Great American Trailer Park Musical. John is a member of the Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York City where he was Associate Producer of their Marathon of One-Act Plays from 1996-1998. In 2005, John wrote, directed and produced the opening festivities for the Center of Hope hosted by His Majesty King Goodwill Zweletini, the Mayor of Durban and the Minister of Health – a center serving the HIV/AIDS community in the township of Bhekulwandle, South Africa, where he was privileged to visit and work on eleven trips between 2003 and 2014.

Dana is a graduate from the State University of New York at Albany, and has starred in previous productions such as Really Really (Leigh), Crimes of the Heart (Babe), and These Shining Lives (Catherine). She can also be seen in Growing Up Smith currently playing in select theatres. She would like to thank her parents for all their support. With love for Paul – “I don’t want to do the water!”

Jenny has enjoyed working at Taproot Theatre and having a good musical comedy romp with The Village Theatre.

Other local roles include Captain Hook in Peter Pan (OSD Players and CTE), Toad in The Wind in the Willows (OFT), Clov in Endgame (Calpurnia’s Dream), Richard in Fuddy Meers, and Adam in Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me (Centralia College). Jason has directed numerous shows for children and is going into his fifteenth season as the director of Creative Theatre Experience’s Showcase program. He currently teaches Drama and Social Studies at Thurgood Marshall Middle School here in Olympia. Jason owes everything to his beautiful family for their tremendous love and support. Recently with other companies, Bill played The Commander in Mother Courage and M. Loyale in Tartuffe at Seattle Shakespeare; Sasha/Dr. Glass/Sen. Blake in Room Service, Solomon Rothschild in The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge, and Luigi in Explorer’s Club at Taproot Theater; the Mighty Molecule in Book-It’s The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, Alfonse Frankenstein in Book-It’s Frankenstein and Lee Collins in Stage Right’s Floyd Collins. Bill teaches at the Overlake School and the Seattle Film Institute, is married to novelist Stephanie Kallos (Broken for You, Sing Them Home and Language Arts), and is dad to Brynn, Noah, and Sam and “Bill-dad” to Amara, his new daughter-in-law.

Ellen has worked in theater and opera for over thirty years. Her professional career began on Broadway with Rex Harrison in My Fair Lady and with the legendary Peggy Lee in her show, Peg. Ellen’s stage credits range from Linda Loman in Death of a Salesman to Mimi in La Boheme. Ellen can be seen on the Web as the Fairy Godmother in Synthetic Picture Haus’ Wish It, Inc. Her work as Lisa Clark in Arthur Allen’s film, Winning Dad has been seen at LGBT Film Festivals in Boston, Kansas City, Seattle, and Mumbai, India. Ellen is also the voice of Gipsy Danger in Guillermo Del Toro’s film, Pacific Rim. Known as the computer game character “GLaDOS”, Ellen’s voice appears in Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, Portal, Portal 2, and Lego Dimensions. In the audio book realm, Ellen reads the sci-fi saga, Dancing With Eternity, with and authored by her husband, John Patrick Lowrie, to whom she has been blissfully married for over thirty years!

Janette has a BFA degree in acting from Baylor University. A recent transplant to Washington from Dallas, TX, some of her favorite roles include: Mistress Quickly, Merry Wives of Windsor (Bainbridge Performing Arts); Ginger, Becky’s New Car (Twelfth Night Productions); Lady Bracknell, The Importance of Being Earnest (Anderlin Arts); Princess Puffer, Drood (Stolen Shakespeare Guild); Sister Acacius, The Divine Sister (Uptown Players); Grandma Kurnitz, Lost in Yonkers (Richardson Theatre Centre).

Local productions include Aida in Aida and Dynamite #1 in Hairspray with Apple Tree Productions. Other recent and notable productions include Kiss Me, Kate with Seattle Musical Theatre, Pippin with the University of Washington (2017), the Mute in The Fantasticks! with Olympia Musical Theater (2016), and Little Becky Two-Shoes in Urinetown with UW Stage Notes (2016). In the fall, she will return to the University of Washington for her senior year and will complete her Bachelor’s of Arts in Musical Theater and American Indian Studies. When not in school or performing, she works as a dance instructor at Debbi’s Dance Etc. and Hi-Liner’s Theater, and choreographer for Apple Tree Productions. Mackenzie is a member of the Coharie Native American Indian Tribe of North Carolina and is honored to be able to share her heritage and indigeneity in this production.

He also does the occasional short film as well as some voice over work for a few video games.
