Meet us at the Stardust Club in lower Manhattan this Christmas. This original series has brightened the holidays for twenty-one seasons and has become a regional tradition for the whole family. Set in 1960 this year, the gang celebrates the election of John F. Kennedy to the White House and the sense that America has entered a new age. However, mysterious events involving myth and magic draw them into circumstances only the spirit of Christmas can untangle. Popular music of the time, dance and comedy for anyone ready to enjoy the holidays!
Darren Mills is the Resident Costume Designer for Harlequin Productions. Olivia (Cowlitz Indian Tribe) is the Resident Lighting Designer at Harlequin. Olivia graduated from Central Washington University with a BFA in Theater Design and Technology. She has also worked with Tacoma Opera, Theater Artists Olympia, Olympia Family Theater, Tacoma Arts Live, SMU, SPSCC, and Seattle Children’s Theater.
A long time performer in the Pacific Northwest, Amy holds a BA in Performance from The Evergreen State College and a Master’s Degree in Applied Drama at The University of Exeter. Favorite roles include Charlotte in Charlotte’s Web (Olympia Family Theater), Maria in Twelfth Night or What You Will (Animal Fire Theater), The Mouse in If You Give a Mouse a Cookie (Olympia Family Theater and Nell Gwyn in Or, (Harlequin Productions). Amy would like to thank everyone on the production team for being such wonderful people to share this experience with. Thanks finally to her family, friends, Andy & Alex, and the Olympia community for the continued support of the arts.
James hails from Knoxville, Tennessee. He has performed in various music productions back home. He’s shared the stage with artists like Skrillex, 12th Planet, Datsik, Excision, Flux Pavilion and many more in the electronic dance music scene.
Maggie has also worked with TAO, Lakewood Playhouse, Annex Theatre and the Indiana Repertory Theatre. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Theatre Performance (Go Blue!). Love to Christian, who brings love, laughter and magic into her life.
Other favorite roles include Roger in Rent, Claude in Hair and Jamie in The Last Five Years. Bruce also works behind the curtain. He has designed and built sets for over 300 productions, including some here at Harlequin. He is very proud and honored to be a part of this beautiful and significant show.
Alexandria J. Henderson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music – Vocal Performance. During the pandemic Alexandria kept busy developing her craft with the Atlantic Acting School’s inaugural Global Virtual Conservatory. Pre-pandemic credits include Lydia Languish in The Rivals – Seattle Shakespeare Company, Elle Woods in Legally Blonde – Showtunes Theatre Company, and Lorrell Robinson in Dreamgirls – Village Theatre (Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Musical Gregory Award recipient). Kristen is a native Floridian who in recent years has graced the Harlequin stage with her portrayal of “Cassandra” in Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike and “Crystal” in Little Shop of Horrors. Her past performances also include Crowns, The Good Body, Black Nativity, Once on This Island, Hot Mikado, Doubt, You Can’t Take It with You, Clybourne Park, Purlie, Bubbling Brown Sugar, My Heart is The Drum, and Arsenic & Old Lace. Kristen truly enjoys the stage and sharing art through performance. She dedicates her time off the stage to working in communities to support underprivileged youth, adults, and persons with disabilities. She is happy to be part of our season, sharing this story with you.
Other local productions include: O’Brien in 1984 and a monstrosity in The Head That Wouldn’t Die, both for TAO. In Los Angeles, he played Larry in the LA premiere of Inspecting Carol, Walter Pangbourne in Move Over Mrs. Markham at the Mukenthaller, Argan in The Imaginary Invalid and Tartuffe in Tartuffe at Arroyo Repertory, and Bunthorne in Patience at the Occidental Theatre Festival among others. He performed standup at The Comedy Store in Hollywood and the Ice House in Pasadena. He has appeared around the country, including ten years at Nevada Shakespeare. His favorites there include: Claudius in Hamlet, Falstaff in The Merry Wives of Windsor, Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, Prospero in The Tempest, Dogberry in Much Ado About Nothing, Toby Belch in Twelfth Night and Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He has appeared on TV in Cheers, Scrubs, The Young and the Restless, and others. John studied with Sanford Meisner, Charles Marowitz and Larry Moss.
Rick has been an active bass player in the Puget Sound area since 1978. He has performed with the Tacoma Symphony, Olympia Symphony, Olympia Chamber Orchestra, Sweatband, Mood Swing, Size 3 and The Hot Five. His Harlequin credits include Tenderly, Man of La Mancha, First Date, Little Shop of Horrors, Pippin, Assassins, A Rock N’ Roll Twelfth Night, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Dancin’ In The Streets, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Sixties Chicks, Sixties Kicks! and so many Stardust shows that he has lost count! Rick currently performs with the Jazz Senators, teaches private lessons and performs as a freelance bassist. Rick wishes to thank his wife Kay, and kids Nicole and Aaron for their continued support.
