In a run-down house in North Philadelphia live two orphaned brothers: the reclusive, sensitive Phillip, and Treat, a violent pickpocket and thief. Their precariously balanced relationship is endangered when Treat kidnaps a wealthy businessman and brings him home. No one is willing to pay the ransom. And the victim, an orphan himself, seems determined to give the boys everything he owns.
