 Ms. Bennett Russell is a Jamaican- African American, Brooklyn New York native, and an activist for Racial and Social justice. An Actor, Director, Teaching Artist, Choreographer for the past 30 plus years and has now added the title of Playwright after the debut of a new work in association with “The Drinking Gourd: Black Actor’s At Work” (a collaboration between Seattle’s The Hansberry Project and Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theater Company). She lent her voice to the Sci-Fi Audio Play, Octavia Butler’s Childfinder with Book-It Theater and has worked with Seattle Public Theater and ACT Theater as an actor in their ‘Locally Grown’ and ‘ACT Local’ new play series. She has served as the Education Assistant Manager for Village Theatre’s KIDSTAGE program, and the host of the Webinar Series “Meet The Masters”. Past Directorial credits include, *Legally Blonde (ShowTunes Theater Co), *CROWNS (Taproot Theater), In The Heights (Village Theater KIDSTAGE) and was last seen as an actor on the stage in 5th Avenues’ Annie.
