Producing Partner: Anchor Bank

One sunny evening outside London 10-year-old Rhona “goes missing.” Her mother, Nancy, retreats into a state of frozen hope. Agnetha, an American psychiatrist, travels to England to research a thesis entitled “Serial Killing – a Forgivable Act?” Then there’s Ralph, a loner with “a bit of a previous” who’s looking for some distraction.... Drawn together by horrific circumstances, these three embark upon a dark journey that plumbs the deepest recesses of the human heart before finding a way into the light. This brilliant new play explores the possibilities of forgiving the unforgivable.

Cast: Mari Nelson, Ann Flannigan, Aaron Jacobs, Josh Wingerter

"Just wanted to drop you a note with kudos for your production of "Frozen," which my wife and I saw last night. The play itself is a wonderfully challenging blend of psychology, neurology, criminology, spirituality, suspense and drama, and the small cast did a superb job of bringing complex characters (including some we never met) to life. At curtain call, it almost came as a surprise that the captivating play we had just seen had just four actors! Outstanding work all around. Congratulations, and thank you for all you do to bring quality theater production to Olympia."

Surrounding FROZEN is a drama almost as fascinating as the play itself. The play was based, as much as possible, on fact, in order to be as real as possible. Questions arose regarding plagiarism. Below are links to two articles by Malcolm Gladwell for the New Yorker. The first is an article about the psychiatrist on whom the character of Agnetha was based. The second is his article about the charges of plagiarism against the playwright, Bryony Lavery. We highly recommend both articles!

Something Borrowed: Should a charge of plagiarism ruin your life?
