Perfectly timed for salmon homecoming…
October 19, 20 and 21st, 2006
What's the Salmonpeople show like?
Peter Donaldson’s performance is a spellbinding work of theater. It’s a one man show with everybody in it; a delightfully disturbing tapestry of homespun economics, character insight, and astounding freehand cartography. At one point, Mr. Donaldson’s on-stage persona, Cyrus Jackson, draws the entire map of the bioregion naming a hundred rivers. From memory! With good humor, good science and audacious storytelling, Peter Donaldson’s Salmonpeople reaches all ages, everybody’s bottom line, and one big landscape.

Don’t miss this special command performance! Back by popular demand at Harlequin Productions where it all began!

And here’s a little secret….

This is the same guy who will be playing Leonardo da Vinci in our season run beginning January…

What Audiences are Saying…
“I was riveted, wanting to see where the story was heading. The story unfolds in layers like an onion skin, each layer revealing deeper and deeper meaning. Salmonpeople is an utterly original and intelligently crafted work of art. It was a very moving experience.”
- Joanne Day, Information Coordinator, Fisheries & Oceans Canada

” My daughter and I saw your performance of Salmonpeople and we both just loved it! We laughed, cried, and went home feeling hopeful, indignant and very, very moved. It was just magical...”

“ Brilliant performance! Peter connects with an audience in a most profound and unique way - one that fills each with the feeling that he is talking directly and perhaps, only, to him or her...”

“ I loved the drawing of the map right in front of us…”

“ Nothing compares to the journey I experienced attending a performance of
Salmonpeople...”

* Free Night of Theater
Harlequin Productions, in partnership with the Arts Alliance of Downtown Olympia, Theater Puget Sound, the City of Olympia and Theatre Communications Group, is pleased to announce Live Theatre Week 2006. This week-long celebration of our region’s theatre will take place on October 16-22, 2006. Live Theatre Week serves to showcase a diverse range of programming, promote and increase live theatre attendance, generate excitement, and demonstrate the cultural and political relevance of live theatre.

During the week participating theatres open their doors to the public, offering access to rehearsals, special meet-the-artist events, receptions, and behind the scenes tours.

Patrons who have never attended a performance at Harlequin's State Theater can get in to see Salmonpeople for FREE, yes, we said FREE, on this one night only. This is a perfect opportunity to get those friends who just can't seem to go out to the theater with you a chance to try it out. To get your free tickets, you can go to the Seattle Performs website.
