Our Clybourne Park Cast Interview Series Continues with a Local Actress Originally from the East Coast
Where are you from?
I met my husband in Boston, where I am from, and followed him out here to the Northwest. I visited in the summer and was thoroughly convinced that it doesn’t rain here. How could it?! Summers here are beautiful!
What do you love most about theater?
I have found theatre, movies, etc a great way to really clarify and discover my own belief systems and values. Sometimes I like what I discover, and sometimes it is time for some serious inner housecleaning!
What was your first role?
My first role was as Groucho Marx in a children’s theatre production. I thought it was so cool to talk funny, walk funny and pretend to smoke a cigar!
What makes Clybourne Park such a powerful piece of theater?
If anything, Clybourne Park will spark conversation. The audience may not relate to all the characters, but the characters and their lives will definitely spark introspection and discussion: the first dose of good medicine for subjects as touchy as class and race in America.
